About Me
I'm Donovan Jones-Myers, a 23-year-old student, engineer, and artist from Minnesota. I'm a junior at Morehouse College, pursuing a degree in applied physics and computer engineering. In my free time, I enjoy drawing and graphic design. I'm preparing to transfer to the University of Michigan to complete my computer engineering degree as part of the Dual Degree Engineering Program (DDEP) at Morehouse College. When I'm not studying, you can find me reading, yo-yoing, watching videos, listening to music, or expressing myself through various art forms like drawing, photography, and digital art.
My art is either drawing, digital, photography, or a combination of those. When it comes to my work, I like to explore different things. Whether through the subject, lighting, medium, time of day, angles, colors, and so on, I try to find what speaks to me and pulls at my curiosity. Recently, I have been studying more about composition, chiaroscuro, juxtaposition, capturing the essence of my subjects, and better utilizing my tools to create images and illusions to capture my viewer. Another aspect of my work is that as I create it on my off time as a student and engineer most of the time, the art and act of making it centers and recharges my mind, motivation, and focus. Regardless of my career in the future, I will always be an artist as it is a part of my nature, and if time allows, a graphic designer on the side.
